The cat came back the very next day...

Or so I hope.
EDIT: he came back. Do you know how scary it is walking around your backyard at 1amish on Saturday night with only a LED flashlight, trying to get a reflection of the glowing eyes on the top of my page.. Freaked me out real good. Leash and Collar and id tag always now.

Please pray my kitty comes back.  I miss him already and am sorry for getting mad and leaving the door open intentionally. Also I am sorry for dressing you up and laughing when you freaked out.  I even bought you a photo frame today...

Maybe you have become something like a child to me, I promise to teach you new tricks, like dancing and leaving on command, opening doors.

I also promise to clean out your litter box daily, not every other day or 3 days, or when I finally get around to it.

I promise to make the Husband be nice to you too, and not tell people you are annoying.

Because all you want is love.

Froggy Game

Have you ever played that game from back in the day where you have to get the frog to cross the lanes of traffic with out getting hit?
I seriously have to do this every time I want to go work. It's great fun when there are gale force winds with rain and you have your hood up and almost get hit, while carrying your supper.

But they have been working slowly for the past month on what looks like an pedestrian cross walk! So in the winter I can actually cause an accident.

I have so many random thoughts going through my head again. So I shall start a series of blog post on them hopefully.

  • How much Nutritional Value is really in Canned food?
  • The differences between the West Coast & East Coast.
  • Why I hate trying to be "Green Conscious" sometimes.
  • The adventures of moving 8 doors down. (Done)

Sometimes it's hard to sleep around here

PS I really haven't been getting much needed rest. Could you please pray that I would sleep for at least 10 hours straight soon.

    In the Windy City

    By request, a life update

    Newest to oldest
(or shall we say, whatever I can remeber after pulling an all nighter)
    Table setting by Janel
    1. We are moving 19 houses up the street, hopefully. You can see it from our doorstep, and it's about $300 less just for rent, and much smaller so it will feel more filled up with the stuff we have. The thing Husband likes is the Jacuzzi tub!
    2. I worked my first late night shift... We are talking till 5 am in the morning, and no I haven't gone to bed yet (it's 7:19 am)
    3. We had the launch service for Avalon Wesleyan church this morning! (did I mention that we get up at 7 am every Sunday to setup) 27 people attended! Lots of other exciting news regarding the church too.
    4. I finished and mailed my little Birdy's birthday present today.
    5. I haven't baked much lately, trying to steer away from the carbs, not feeling so thin lately. (Notice the word feeling.. It's all in my head/stomach, I haven't quite decided yet)
    6. Things are always interesting around the house with "Lucifer" aka Daxter.. I bought him a play toy from my adventure downtown and he has partially shredded it.. I don't know if that means he appreciated it or not. Of course I do get him back for his incessant meowing by making him model Tu-Tu's occasionally.

    My dream list

Oh how I would love to make both of these items, Shawl Pattern, Beret

I finished my first square and started another, this one I am using the Purl Stitch, the firstone I did with a Knit stitch. Now I just have to learn how to read a pattern. I have been requested to make a scarf so I may start on that before going on with my blanket, because his birthday is Dec 1st

My first sqaure. I am hoping to make squares in orange and brown (maybe blue) and the above color and then attach them all together.

My Next post is # 200!
I need some suggestions on how to celebrate this...
    My latest baking adventure,

    Rocky Road Snowballs (Gluten-Free)

Enlist your favourite helping hands to roll these delights and coat them in coconut. For a nut-free variation, replace walnuts with chopped glazed cherries.   Servings: 75 snowballs *  I don't know how many my batch made because the husband ate half the pan while I was at work, before they got rolled.

    Ingredients:

      1-1/2 cups (375 mL) chopped walnuts 1 cup (250 mL) mini-marshmallows
1-1/2 cups (375 mL) shredded sweetened coconut

    Preparation:

In bowl over saucepan of simmering water, melt together semisweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate chips and cream cheese, stirring occasionally, until very thick. Remove from heat; stir in walnuts and marshmallows. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.

Roll by scant 1 tbsp (15 mL) into balls; roll each in coconut. Place on waxed paper-lined baking sheet; refrigerate until hardened, about 1 hour. (Make-ahead: Refrigerate in airtight container for up to 5 days.)

    Cora is walking!!

She took a few steps for me right before I left for the east coast, but tonight my sister posted a vid on FB of her walking and it's adorable. She just turned 11 months old.

I don't know if the link will work.

I took a live phone call today!!!
    I didn't bomb either :P
Our trainer asked "Does anyone want to take a call?" I'm thinking "FINALLY" so I put up my hand thinking he would respond with "Sure on Monday you can" But no, he says "really" and when I nodded. He had me log into the systems. I had to wait 20 mins to take it, and it was a really easy call. But I am slightly proud of myself. Other then feeling like I couldn't find any systems..
Best part about the whole thing... Another trainer gave our trainer 2 pieces of cake and I got to have the 2nd piece :D

Why we don't have better a (insert gov program here)?

Have you seen this CBC article yet?

This makes me flaming mad. Let me be the minister and I would be making sure we are spending that money on things that benefit the next generation. Lets put that into the sports/arts/music programs the things we are complaining about losing. The things that spark a life long love of things that get the imagination going, or the physical being.

This is my rant for the day, which could go on and on.

Now for the lighter side :)
