Dinner date

Tonight Mr.Shiny took me out for dinner to this place
We had the Satay with Peanut sauce for an appy,
and I had the Pad thai and he had Masaman curry chicken.
It was a very nice small place with great service and soft lighting.
The food was delish.
  Note:
Our first date was Baan Thai in Victoria,
Which we both agree was less expensive but just as good.

The wind was amazing, it was blowing so fiercely. When I walked to work (with the hopes of pizza) the plow had gone by on our side of the street and there was knee high snowbank.
The walk itself was a journey, I was being blown sideways and pelted with with icy rain.

3 hours later when I ran to the grocery store it wasn't any better. The last three photos are from 3:40am, I was walking a crossed the parking lot and I see this person running towards me, then I realize he is carrying a shovel, before I start to panic, I recognize the scarf. Mr. Shiny had come to walk me home or more likely hold on to so I wouldn't get blown away. So 12 hours later he cleans off the stairs again and we go inside to have pizza.

On my walk home tonight, it was swirling and blowing all around me. They are offering overtime and pizza at work tomorrow because they aren't sure how many people will actually make it into work. Plus they like to pull the buses off the roads too.
Thankfully for them I just live a cross the street, and I'm willing to work overtime.
I wish I had some photos to show you.. But my camera just can't capture the white-outness.

This photo captures what it feels like to walk home some nights.

To cut/dye/dread?

I started this little post at work, and emailed myself, but it magiclly got lost along the way.
  Good game self.
I want to start doing Angelina Jolie style dreads.

But I'm scared. I'm don't want to ruin my hair. I loved my hair extensions. The husband said I'm not ready if I am concerned about looking ugly. I might have asked him if he would still think I as pretty if shaved my head after the dreads.
   What's a girl to do.
My roots are so light right now look almost white, I like my dark hair, but the upkeep of dying it, is way to expensive. (or should I say, I am saving for a new computer)
My ends are sticking together, and I need a trim. But my hair dresser is back in Terrace.

All the styles I've tried.

So check out the past hair... and leave me a comment.. I need some advice.

Blogging laziness..

So Quick Update!
My parents have been here since Wednesday, so I wasn't able to finish Interview Me Part 1 (which is coming someday soon) But it's been a so much fun having them here. My mother spoiled me rotten, cooking and baking everyday. Plus they rented a car, so they took me grocery shopping twice! (a blessing so I didn't have to lug 18 kg of kitty litter home) I MISS MY CAR.  We did some sightseeing.. We froze our fingers and ears off, and had lots of long talks, and watched Fireproof which is an amazing Christian Movie!
You know how people will tell you, that you don't realize what you have till it's gone? Well I miss my parents wisdom and friendship so much.  Update: They flew out yesterday.... I think they made it safely back to Ottawa.
PS...
If your my friend on Facebook, you can check out my touristy photos there. If not find me on Facebook to see them!

Interview Me, Part 3

Stephanie asked:

Would you rather be blind or deaf? Why?

Deaf, I would miss seeing the beautiful colors and people's faces. Seeing as I talk to people a lot on the phone, I don't think I would miss hearing voices. Plus you can still see facial expressions. Although being able to speak is faster, with a computer and typing. You have the chance to stop and think about what you will say next.

If your house was on fire, what would you grab on your way out?

My Cat... I'm tempted to say my computer... or my photos.. things that irreplaceable.

Where is your favorite place on earth?

I would say, any place where I have friends/or family.

I love Lakelse Canyon,  Tulum, Mexico. Lost lake
Mainly if it consists of water and sunny weather, with a great friend and a good book. I would be happy as a clam.

What is the best thing you know how to cook?

I shall have to take a poll on this.. I try to advoid cooking. Possibly Mushroom soup, or Lasanga.. I once had someone ask me to write down the instructions for something I made, I think that was a sandwich. I had someone try to set me up with their son. Joys of working at a fishing lodge :)

Interview Me, Part 2

Smellyann said...

    How old are you?
Some days I am 19, other days I feel much older then my days. Most days I'm 26!

    Where did you grow up?
I grew up in small city of Terrace, in the Northwest Coast of B.C.  Home of the Kermode Bear,   a place where my dad's family homesteaded (in a small community about 30 min. north) The beloved community where my family still resides.

How long have you been married?

699 days, or 1 year, 10 months, 27 days
 (today being Jan 27th)

What do you want to do with your life?
Short answer:
What ever God wants me to do.
Long answer:
I want to touch the world so that in 10, 50 even 100 years after my passing, the things I do will leave a lasting impression. Preferably something along the lines of Mother Theresa not Adolf Hitler. I feel the deep call of my heart is to mother. Possibly my own children, but the next generation. Generation X, the children who are born and forgotten, abandoned.
I don't  have a clear picture of how I want to do this in the long run yet. But as of now, I have 2 World Vision children in Africa, a boy and a girl the same age as my two youngest siblings.
I want to be a supportive wife, who will stand behind and support her husband, to see him prosper and be successful in every good thing he sets his sights on.
I want to be useful, be used in giving of love, because by giving away the one thing that money can't buy it will multiply it, and I may not see the returns tomorow, or even in my life time. But it's my great calling, to love my neighbor as myself. (still working on loving myself)

Isaiah 1:16-18
(NLT)
16 Wash yourselves and be clean!
Get your sins out of my sight.
Give up your evil ways.

17 Learn to do good.
Seek justice.
Help the oppressed.
Defend the cause of orphans.
Fight for the rights of widows.

18 “Come now, let’s settle this,”
says the Lord.
“Though your sins are like scarlet,
I will make them as white as snow.
Though they are red like crimson,
I will make them as white as wool.
